Recently, the College of American Pathologists (CAP) announced that Shanghai OrigiMed Clinical Laboratory has been accredited by CAP. CAP is internationally recognized as an authoritative and credible laboratory certification organization, known as the "gold standard" for laboratory certification.

In 2018, Pujiang laboratory of OrigiMed had been accredited by CAP. Now, with Shanghai OrigiMed Clinical Laboratory once again successfully passing the CAP review, this signifies OrigiMed’s strict adherence to laboratory quality standards and its ongoing commitment to maintaining a leading position on par with international standards.

During the review period, Dr. Richard Scanlan, the chairman of the CAP Laboratory Accreditation Committee and a pathology and laboratory expert from Oregon Health & Science University, along with Dr. Sainan Wei, a pathology and laboratory medicine expert from the University of Kentucky, visited Shanghai OrigiMed Clinical Laboratory. They conducted an on-site review for CAP certification based on the CAP Checklist.

Two experts conducted a comprehensive inspection of various aspects of the laboratory, including personnel, equipment, reagents, methods, and environment. They examined the on-site laboratory, personnel files, project validation, testing processes, inter-laboratory quality assessment, and in-house quality control, covering nearly 400 items on the CAP Checklist. After a thorough and meticulous review, the experts highly recognized and evaluated the professionalism and standardization of the management and quality level of Shanghai OrigiMed Clinical Laboratory.

Shanghai OrigiMed Clinical Laboratory is a subsidiary of OrigiMed, located at No. 801 Huiping Road, Jiading District, with a construction area of approximately 2000 square meters. It is an independent third-party testing laboratory approved by the Shanghai Municipal Health Commission, established and operated in accordance with the quality standards of the CAP and ISO 15189.

Shanghai OrigiMed Clinical Laboratory possesses qualifications in the medical laboratory science, clinical cytogenetics, and pathology. It holds a certificate for clinical gene amplification laboratory and is registered as a secondary biosafety laboratory for pathogenic microorganisms. It has repeatedly passed various inter-laboratory quality assessments conducted by institutions such as Shanghai and National Clinical Testing Center.
